A Foundation of Faith for Everything We Do
For Lutherans, worship stands at the center of our life of faith. Through God’s word, water, bread and prayer we are nurtured in faith and sent out into the world. There is also a basic pattern for worship among Lutherans. We gather. We encounter God’s word. We share a meal at the Lord’s table. And we are sent into the world. But we do not think about worship so much in terms of what we do. Worship is fundamentally about what God is doing and our response to God’s action.
Worship is an encounter with God, who saves us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You’re invited to experience worship and be touched by God’s love!
Formal & Informal Worship
Gloria Dei, an ELCA Lutheran Church in Neenah WI, offers a mix of formal and informal-style worship services. As a neighborhood church committed to Neenah and the surrounding area, Gloria Dei is committed to bringing Christ to people every day. We realize that many different things compete for your attention on Sunday mornings. However, we believe that if you really want to feel connected to Christ and to a community of believers, Sunday worship needs to be a priority. Committing to weekly Sunday worship is the first step to give God glory.
During Fall, Winter, and Spring we have two identical services at 8:00 am and 10:30 am on Sunday. 8:00AM service is live-streamed. During Summer, we have one service at 9:00 am Sunday and one Thursday 6:00 PM.
Giving Glory to God
Giving glory to God is a central activity of the mission of all Christians. We do this together as a Christian community when we worship on Sunday mornings. We are grateful for God’s gifts, including the gift of His Son, Jesus, who gave His life for us. In Jesus, we are forgiven and continually made whole and new.
Walking as Jesus’ Disciples
Worshiping with the church community is a very important part of our discipleship journey. Here at Gloria Dei, folks find support and offer support to one another. Together, we are strengthened, equipped, and renewed in our purpose to bring Jesus’ love to others every day. This is God’s mission for us in this world.
Singing God’s Praises
We lift up our voices in songs of praise to our God at every worship service. Music Ministry is an integral part of the worship experience at Gloria Dei. Our music ministers represent people of all ages, backgrounds, and musical ability. Share your musical talents with our congregation by singing or playing instruments with others.
