Growing in Faith
Gloria Dei ELCA Lutheran Church in Neenah WI, offers many opportunities to grow in faith and spirituality. From Baptism to First Communion, Confirmation, and adult discipleship, Gloria Dei provides faith formation for all ages. From camps to retreats to formal educational sessions, we engage in Lutheran doctrines, rituals, and Holy Scripture to transform our lives to better serve the Lord.
Children & Youth Education
Gloria Dei offers Christian education through Sunday School for children age 3 through grade 5. Sunday School begins on the third Sunday of September and ends with Celebration Sunday on the second Sunday in May. Sunday School occurs between the 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services. Classes begin at 9:10 a.m. Children learn about God’s love and their purpose through Bible stories, faith themes, and tangible activities of discovery and service. Sunday School includes a time for children to gather to sing together, then gather in classrooms by age/grade for learning or hands-on activities.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a step of Faith Formation for youth in sixth to eighth grades. Instruction typically takes place on Wednesday evenings during the school year. Individuals participate in both large- and small-group learning, hands-on activities, service projects, and team building.
Vacation Bible School
A fun and faith-filled adventure occurs every summer at Gloria Dei Vacation Bible School. Kids participate in a week of Bible-learning activities, fun songs, team-building games, and hands-on adventures. They even participate in an outreach project at Vacation Bible School. The VBS theme changes every year, but the central theme remains the same: to learn about the Bible and grow in relationship with one another and Jesus Christ. Each day of VBS concludes with a closing celebration open to family members and friends. Vacation Bible School is open to children ages 3-12, friends, neighbors, and family.
Adult Education
Gloria Dei offers many opportunities for you to get connected through ministry teams and small groups. adult education opportunities. Adult Bible study take place at 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the Gloria Dei Library. Coffee and light refreshments are served. Adult Sunday School occurs between the 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services. Classes take place from 9:20 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. September-May in the Gloria Dei Library. Other Bible Study Series are offered throughout the year on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m.
