FAQs
Gloria Dei is an ELCA Lutheran Church; a church and community where worship, spiritual support and outreach happen!
We believe that God’s grace (unconditional love) is given to us and to all people, through the life-giving work of Jesus Christ.
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), which is one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States, with about 4 million members in nearly 10,000 congregations across the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
ELCA Lutherans believe that God’s grace is found through Jesus, that the Holy Bible is the story of God’s unconditional love which saves all, and that we are called to be in community and in the world to share God’s love and serve others generously!

In worship, we set aside a time to hear and experience God’s love with scripture, music, prayer, learning and mutual support during worship.
One step away from a traditional liturgical service, we incorporate traditional and modern elements in worship. Worship is generally 1 hour in length.
You will see worshippers wearing anything from business suits to jeans to shorts. You can wear whatever you are comfortable with. Come as you are!
From the 3rd Sunday in September through the 2nd Sunday in May, Worship services are scheduled for Sundays at 8 & 10:30 a.m. 3rd Sunday in May through 2nd Sunday in September Sunday worship services take place at 9 a.m. A Thursday evening Worship service is offered at 6 p.m. June – August during the summer.
Worship is also livestreamed on Sunday mornings and can be accessed on Gloria Dei’s YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/c/gloriadei
Visitors to Gloria Dei will be welcomed but will not be singled out. We desire to provide an unconditional welcome to you through kindness and hospitality. We wish to honor and value you in the midst of this community.
Generally, before or after worship, enjoy refreshments, including beloved pastries like donuts.
Children are invited and welcome to participate in worship at Gloria Dei! There is also a nursery room available just steps from the worship space.
During the fall, winter, and spring, Children’s education classes (Sunday School) are offered from 9:10-10:15 for children in pre-school through fifth grade.
Holy Communion is generally part of worship when we gather. All are welcome to receive this meal of grace at Gloria Dei regardless of age or religious denomination or faith background.
Communion wine or grape juice is available, as well as regular or gluten-free wafers. Children who do not receive communion are encouraged to accompany their parents and receive a prayer of blessing.
We are constantly developing a culture of giving as a response to the gifts and blessings God gives to us. Offering is usually part of worship whenever we gather. We accept and encourage donations during worship services and online through our Give page.
Giving a financial offering in NOT a requirement of participating in the worship of Gloria Dei. The gifts of God are freely given, the response we make is a matter of faith and circumstance.
Gloria Dei’s facilities are on one level without stairs and are accessible for those with mobility accessibility needs.
Most Gloria Dei entrances are equipped with automatic push button entrance doors and the worship space has a Hearing Loop system, for hearing accessibility.
Show up! Worship until you’re feeling comfortable here, then jump in! Check out the opportunities through Gloria Dei’s weekly newsletter, the “Dei Lite’s.”
